WEEKLY WORSHIP
All are welcome to join us in worship!
Whether you attend our 8:30 or 10:30 service, the structure of the
liturgy is the same. Nativity is a come-as-you-are community; we
have no special dress code. Some of us dress in jeans, others are
more formal.
Although the Episcopal tradition shares many beliefs and practices
with other Christian traditions, there are some aspects of the
Episcopal worship experience that is distinctive. We welcome
newcomers to ask questions in an accepting and affirming
environment and encourage all to learn about the Episcopal tradition.
Our worship is organized around the liturgical calendar which includes
the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week,
Easter, and Pentecost. Most Sundays, our service celebrates Holy
Eucharist, beginning with the liturgy of the word read from the Bible,
followed by a sermon, prayers of the people, and confession of sins.
We then greet one another in peace. The liturgy of the table follows,
which brings us into communion with Christ and one other. At
communion, the Episcopal Church invites all the baptized to receive
the bread and wine. If you prefer, you may receive a blessing. Know
that the invitation to the table is the Lord’s and none will be turned
away.
In addition, we are blessed with an outdoor labyrinth for personal
meditation and prayer. All are welcome to visit Nativity at any time
and walk our labyrinth.
